Artie: Elevating Art Engagement through Thoughtful Design

Artie stands as a testament to the seamless convergence of technology and art appreciation—a mobile application that encapsulates the art world within the palm of your hand. With a dynamic array of videos showcasing diverse works of art each week, Artie transforms the way we experience and connect with artistic creations.

Process

The journey of creating Artie started when the visionary wanted a mobile app that's easy to use and harmonized with human interface design principles. To make this happen, we made a plan with a timeline. We brainstormed ideas on how to improve the app, deciding what to add and what to leave out. We also did a competitive audit to see what works well, and I created a roadmap for how users would move through the app.

User Flow

Wireframes.

Once we were sure about the roadmap, we figured out what screens and features the app should have. This became the foundation for the app's layout, shown through wireframes.

Design System.

I created a simple design system that complies with human interface guidelines and matches the brand identity.

As the design took shape, we focused on colors and overall appearance. I developed a design system that matched Artie's identity—deciding on fonts, colors, pieces that fit together, and how pages should look. This design system guided the visual elements across the app.

Using this design system, I brought each page to life, making sure everything fit together nicely. Because of this system, making changes based on user feedback was quick and easy. This made sure that the app's look and feel stayed consistent and appealing on every page.

Artie isn't just about art; it's also about smart design. From conception to realization, every phase—ideation, analysis, and design—melded seamlessly. Artie isn't just an app; it's a way to enjoy and explore art through a simple and friendly experience.
